Woodlands is a nice hotel – especially for kids. Lots of room to run, activities for kids every day (trivia contests, crafts, magician, etc) The grounds are huge, nice for a stroll, and the visitor’s center is a good introduction to Old Williamsburg. (It was pouring rain the days we were there and we didn’t take advantage of any tours.) The rooms and the hotel itself are squeaky clean with a nice lobby area for relaxing. Amazingly we had housekeeping staff clean our room every day, make the beds, leave clean towels, something often not happening today in the large chains. The breakfast is the usual hotel fare with a nice assortment of choices. Note: the usual scrambled eggs/sausage/bacon option was combined into McMuffin style sandwiches with pancakes or English muffins for the bread. The best part of our stay was Jennifer at the front desk. She was efficient and helpful as we needed to relocate our walker-using, elderly grandmother to a room closer to the entrance.

The hotel is adjacent to the Colonial Williamsburg welcome center where you purchase tickets to visit the historic sites. By staying at the hotel you will receive discount pricing on admission. There is a shuttle that is a short ride to the various sites. Simply put, this is the hotel that you want to stay at when visiting Colonial Williamsburg. There several events that happen throughout the day and evening at Colonial Williamsburg so being able to quickly return to the hotel to get warmer clothes or drop off gifts is very convenient. Be sure to check out the activities at the hotel.

The staff was amazing, at check in they took the time to explain all the area had to offer. The breakfast was the best continental breakfast I’ve ever had. They even had a separate gluten free section! The pool and splash pad was huge and perfect for our family with young children. Colonial Williamsburg and the visitor center is very close. The walk to both is quick and easy and full CW vibe! Every night they have all sorts of activities, miniature golf, magic shows, s’mores…. Ect ect all included. We booked it randomly, and this will be where we stay every time now!

The property was amazing and very family oriented. It was clean and you saw staff cleaning all day. Stay was amazingly nice. They also had a sun contractor that leased motor scoters for the elderly and handicapped and I thought that was a plus since my husband is handicapped and they came within 15 mins of me calling. Breakfast was great. It saved me a lot of money. They also have so many activities for the children to do at the hotel. Plus the huge pool and sprinkler park was epic

Woodlands is slighly more expensive compared to other hotels on our two-month Road Trip. But we wanted something more comfortable after friends had unknowingly exposed us to COVID a few days before. If infected, we wanted to quarantine in more comfortable surroundings. Turns out we are extremely happy with Woodlands. Best breakfast, Big comfy room, great WiFi, friendly staff, central location, etc. Plus you are just a few steps away from Colonial Williamsburg.
